This artificial intelligence-generated image is not the actual total solar eclipse.

Millions of people in North America saw a total solar eclipse on April 8, which is an uncommon astronomical occurrence that won't happen here again until August 2044. Following it, a striking photo that purportedly captured this phenomena circulated on social media.

The sun is hidden by a dark circle in this photograph, but its outermost layer is still visible as a dim ring of light. Tree silhouettes against a brilliant sun can be seen throughout the remainder of the photograph. With the comment, "Probably the best photo of total solar eclipse 2024," a Facebook user shared it. This picture was also shared by a lot of Threads users, who claimed it was the total solar eclipse on April 8.

In response to the widely shared photograph, several individuals said that AI was used to create it.  Moderatio and IsitAi, two AI detection tools confirm this. Both disclosed that the picture was created by AI.

About Solar Eclipse :

When the Moon passes in front of the Sun and Earth, it creates a shadow that, in certain places, completely or partially blocks the Sun's light. This phenomenon is known as a solar eclipse. Because the Moon doesn't orbit in the exact same plane as the Sun and Earth, this only seldom occurs. Twice a year, during eclipse season, they align. This is known as eclipse season.
